House Moves Closer to Historic Tax Relief for American People

Dec 19, 2017 Issues: Tax Reform

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jeff Duncan released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the House-Senate Conference Report on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:

“We have moved one step closer to providing historic tax relief to the American people. Our nation has waited over 30 years for meaningful tax reform, and I am excited that we have accomplished another step in the legislative process today. This bill will make a huge impact on individuals, families, and companies in South Carolina, and now we need the Senate to move this process along by voting on the Conference Report.

“We are on the verge of unleashing the American dream for millions of people in this country. It’s disheartening that the Democrats chose to sit on the sidelines throughout this process and attack a pro-growth, pro-family tax plan that is all about bigger paychecks, higher wages, more jobs, and smaller government.

“I stand committed to my constituents, South Carolina, and the nation, and I will continue to work on getting this tax reform package across the finish line. Let’s finish the job!”
