Duncan Statement on Passage of the Continuing Resolution

February 23, 2011
Press Release

Freshman Congressman Jeff Duncan released the following statement following the passage of H.R 1, the Continuing Resolution to fund the government for the rest of FY2011:

“This week, I couldn’t be more proud than to be a part of a 87 member freshman class that said ‘let’s cut $100 billion, but let’s not stop there.’  I’m glad that we cut over $100 billion from this year’s spending levels, but this is just a down payment on what’s necessary to lower the deficit and balance our budget.  It’s gratifying to vote to defund ObamaCare, ban federal funding for abortion, and block the President from unilaterally implementing Cap & Trade all in one day.”

“I believe our country took a huge step forward this week in returning our government to the people.”
