Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jeff Duncan released the following statement congratulating Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Mick Mulvaney on his temporary post as the Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB):

“President Trump made an excellent choice in having my friend Mick Mulvaney temporarily lead the CFPB. The General Counsel for the CFPB agrees that President Trump has legal authority under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act to designate Mick as the Acting Director, and I believe all officials at the agency should act accordingly. The American people have questioned the constitutionality of CFPB actions for a long time, and I know Mick will bring much needed trust and transparency to the agency. I look forward to supporting Mick as he serves our nation in this new capacity.”
