Duncan Votes to Sustain President’s NDAA Veto

Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jeff Duncan released the following statement on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

“The House voted this evening on whether to sustain or override the President's veto on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). I voted to support the President in sustaining his veto for the same reasons I voted against the NDAA when it last came before the House. The legislation contained too many issues unrelated to our national defense, and it did not contain language to prevent the closure of the Parris Island Marine Recruit Depot.

“Thank you, President Trump, for vetoing this legislation, and even though the veto was ultimately overridden by the House, I hope the Senate takes a different course.”
