Duncan: Bring on College Football

June 12, 2020

Laurens, S.C. – Congressman Jeff Duncan (SC-03) sent a letter to the President of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on the importance of going ahead with college football season:

"College football is unique in the way it bonds Americans near and far through the love of a simple game. It also brings a strong economic boost to our college town businesses, which areas like Clemson, South Carolina heavily rely on. As we've learned more about COVID-19 as a nation over time, and Congress and the Administration have provided states with the necessary resources and guidance to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, I've been highly confident in America's ability to safely reopen. Americans are craving a sense of normalcy and camaraderie, and I believe college football could be the catalyst to reopening and reunifying America in a post-COVID-19 environment. I urge the NCAA to keep this year's college football season on schedule. Go Tigers!"
