America First
President Trump did the right thing by halting funds to the World Health Organization! They played a crucial role in covering up the Chinese Communist Party’s botched coronavirus response and aided in downplaying its severity. As I’ve said before, if anyone believes the “information” coming out of the Chinese government, they have ignored their long history of propaganda and dishonesty. I am a proud cosponsor of House Resolution 917 expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that WHO funds should be halted, so the decision by the President is welcome news.

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
PPP has already proven to be a lifeline for small businesses. While there have been bumps in the road during the program’s roll-out, it’s getting better day by day to aid Main Street during this difficult time.  So far, more than 1,100,000 loans have been approved for small businesses, almost $270 billion in loans have been processed, and nearly 4,800 lenders have participated. In South Carolina alone, over 14,000 PPP loans have been approved for more than $2,700,000,000. This is a HUGE success!

Economic Impact Payments
The economic impact payments have started to hit bank accounts! Around 80 million Americans received a check yesterday. More information can be found HERE.

The U.S. Treasury Department launched the online portal to submit direct deposit information for the economic impact payment. This is only necessary if your information IS NOT on file already with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Americans who filed 2018 or 2019 tax returns with direct deposit information or receive Social Security do not need to take action. They will automatically receive payment in their bank accounts. You can find information on direct deposit and a link to submit your information HERE

Were you not required to file federal income tax and do not receive Social Security? If so, you can enter your information HERE

Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
The FCC has created a COVID-19 Telehealth Program to help health care providers transition to telehealth services during the coronavirus pandemic. This program will provide $200 million in appropriated funds by Congress in the CARES Act, to fully fund telecommunication services, information services, and devices for eligible providers necessary to deliver connected care services to patients remotely.

From the FCC:
Note that the COVID-19 Telehealth Program is limited to nonprofit and public eligible health care providers that fall within the categories of health care providers in section 254(h)(7)(B) of the 1996 Act. For more information, see Question 8 of the FAQs.

The application portal launched this week, and you can view it HERE. For guidance on the application process, click HERE
